Who We Are

Martin G.. Zivic

GE assignments in three European countries with marriage at end of trail...

I was born in January, 1938, near Uniontown, Pennsylvania.  I grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, called Crafton.  I graduated from Penn State University in 1962 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  Later while with GE I received my MSEE from Rensselaer Polyytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.  Immediately after graduation I joined General Electric on a three-year training program.  My training assignments were in Schenectady, NY, Birmingham, AL, Roanaoke, VA, and Thionville, France.  I liked working in Europe and accepted assignments in Italy (2 years), Port Talbot Wales(1 year), and Dublin, Ireland (1 year).

I met my wife, Juliette, in Dublin.  We were married in Schenectady, NY, in 1967.  I worked with GE in Schenectady until 1976, when I resigned to accept a position in Concord, NH.  In 1980 I rejoined GE, and we moved to Rye.  In 1992 I retired and have enjoyed every minute of it.  We live on Recreation Road with a beagle named Watson and two cats named Sherlock and Smokey.
