Has traveled to 50 states and abroad, always with camera at the ready
Born in New Jersey, Judy Underwood lived in Center Conway and Chocorua as a child. Her family moved to Connecticut, where she attended high school and the University of Connecticut, receiving her Master's degree in Mathematics. After a few years in Franklin, Vermont, she lived in Boulder, Colorado for the next 20 years, returning to New Hampshire in 1999. She has worked in the field of computer technology as a database programmer, network manager, project manager, consultant and instructor.
Judy has enjoyed photography for many years, using both film and digital media. Her enjoyment of photography complements her enjoyment of traveling. In addition to visiting all 50 states and world-wide travel, she lived in Israel during the summer of 1997, volunteering for a dig at Tel Dor on the Mediterranean coast. She lived in China in 2002, teaching English to little children and traveling around China at every opportunity.
Judy moved to Rye in November, 2004. After living in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains for 20 years, this was the first time she lived near the beach. She was a member of the Friends of the Rye Public Library, where she has created many of the posters for Friends-sponsored events. She was a member of the Rye Driftwood Garden Club and participated in the Art in Bloom show. She taught computer-related classes at the Rye Public Library.
Judy moved to New Mexico in December, 2007.
