On "Ninety exhibitors, volunteers bring
Festival of Trees alive..."
Thanks for the great photos and article on The Festival. Just wanted to make some corrections to The Peoples Choice winners: for correct names of the winners please visit our
Web site. We'd just like to make sure the appropriate people are given credit for all their hard work.

On "Zhu Zhu hysteria hits home as dawn
store lines form … "
I met you standing in line at Toys R Us. I enjoyed your article and loved the pictures you have taken along the way. Good luck on your Zhu Zhu adventures. Have a nice holiday, and I'll let you know when I get my hands on one of those furry things - hopefully before Christmas!

On "Wry … The pirate way … "
If we find the condo fountains putting out cascades of rum grog with a snowman sitting in the middle of the lower pool, we'll know who to blame. Your piece reminds me of the continuing theme in my annual Christmas card construction directions...enjoy!

On "Town Museum presents exhibit on the
'good old days' … June 2005 … "
I found a reference to the Atlantic Air Academy on your Web site. "One of the last survivors was the Stoneleigh. Located on Central Road, it was built by the Drake family of Chicago as an 85-room hotel, but it served many purposes during its lifetime. It was a women's junior college, housed the Atlantic Air Academy and, finally, a seminary/retreat house for the Franciscan Friars. It offered a beautiful setting for each group. After it was torn down in the 1990's it was developed into home sites."
Can you tell me any more about this school? I believe it operated in the late 1940s. I am a PhD student working on a dissertation addressing military schools.

On "Visiting Galapagos is a naturalist's delight …
March 2007 … "
I stumbled onto Rye Reflections while viewing photos of the Galapagos islands. Googled Guayaquil, landed in the report of a 2007 Galapagos trip, and then clicked on the 2009 link. The Cold War memorial is a great story - new to me - and I loved it. Now I have to go buy the book.

Blue Crab sculpture – click on image for larger view. (Jim Cerny photo)The story about the
Children's Museum of New Hampshire was published in 2008, just when it was about to move from Portsmouth to Dover. This is just a note to remind readers that it is now well-established in Dover.
And as a bonus for visitors, there is a giant blue crab sculpture on the lawn outside the building, done by the same artist,
Nathan Walker, whose giant red ant sculpture we noted when it was in Portsmouth in summer of 2008.
